Why We Are There

A Glimpse into the Services Provided by Hacienda Healthcare/Children’s Angel Foundation

Juan was born with musculoskeletal problems, including clubbed feet, as well as feeding difficulties and respiratory problems resulting in repeated hospital stays. As Juan and his family lived in rural Arizona and were poor, they could not afford to get him the medical assistance needed.

When he had to incur more hardship – the removal of the central line to his heart and a tracheotomy, Juan was transferred from the Phoenix Children’s Hospital to Los Ninos – one of the hospitals affiliated with and funded by Hacienda Healthcare/Children’s Angel Foundation.

Once in their capable hands, Juan was given his own room, specialized nurses and physicians around the clock, his parents were moved to Kiwanis Angel House – a home away from home for parents of sick children and they received medical training on how to care for Juan on a daily basis.

Hacienda Health Care affiliates Hacienda Home Health and Hacienda Innovative Staffing then located nurses close to the family home, evaluated their skills and made sure they could provide support and further training to Juan’s parents.

Thanks to all of the services offered by Hacienda and Children’s Angel Foundation – free of charge to Juan and his family, he was able to return home after almost a year of being hospitalized.

Juan is only one of thousands of children who receive this same level of care, support and service. Hacienda and Children’s Angel Foundation has been providing these services since 1967.
