Alaska Community Service
A Unique Combination of

Community Service, Travel and Adventure

$5,999

Plus airfare to and from Anchorage

  • Accommodations: Hotels, dorms, farmhouse, and bed & breakfast
  • A certificate for 80 hours of service & a list of projects accomplished is issued after the trip.
  • Everybody participates together in each project.
  • Participants have the choice to earn 3 University credits by choosing the “Explorations in Service Learning” course option. The course connects our hands-on service experience with academic reflection. College credit is through the University of Southern Mississippi and is transferable to many colleges and Universities. There is a $550 fee for the credit option.

  • Boys & Girls Club: mentor a child and run day camp programming
  • Kids’ Kitchen: assist in serving meals for those in need
  • Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies: preserve and beautify the coastal environment
  • Food Bank of Alaska: participate in the Great Alaskan Bake Sale and sort donations in the warehouse

  • Mountaineering on Matanuska Galcier
  • Mush on an Alaskan wheeled dog sled
  • Cycling the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail
