A Glance at our Service

Ronald McDonald House of Honolulu
Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for sick or injured children and their families when they require medical treatments in Oahu that are not available on their own island. By providing this service free of charge, families can stay together during these difficult times without enduring the cost of a hotel. 400 families annually are hosted by RMH Honolulu.

Help purchase groceries and prepare fun, themed meals for the families staying at the House. Run arts & crafts programs with the children and their siblings in the center’s “Family Room”, and make cards which will be delivered to the children in the hospital. Use your “green thumb” - help in the beautification of the center, which may involve landscaping, planting, or general maintenance of the House grounds.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity has built more than 225,000 houses worldwide, providing more than one million people with decent, affordable shelter. Honolulu Habitat for Humanity dedicates itself to providing low income families in their area with their very own homes – with the help of the homeowners themselves.

Work alongside the families that will one day live in these homes! These families rely on the support of dedicated volunteers. Whether you are landscaping, laying foundation, painting, or building, these days will be incredibly rewarding.

Hawaiian Food Bank
Hawaiian Food Bank is the only nonprofit agency in Hawaii that collects and distributes food to 250 agencies in Oahu, as well as other food banks throughout Hawaii. Their network serves over 130,000 people annually.

Assist in the collection, sorting, storage and distribution of nutritious food. This may include shelving canned goods, or building & delivering food boxes for the elderly or new mothers.

Hawaii Nature Center
Hawaii Nature Center is dedicated to helping young people appreciate and preserve Hawaii’s unique and fragile environment. Did you know that 90% of Hawaii’s plant and animal species are found no where else on Earth?

Learn from the experts about environmental stewardship – or how to lessen your impact on the delicate environment of Maui and other fragile ecosystems. Groups may participate in trail maintenance or building a boardwalk.

Read To Me
Read To Me International Foundation is devoted to improving children's literacy.  It's mission is to promote the love and joy of reading aloud to children.

Hawaii has two faces - that of the tourists, resorts and honeymooners enjoying the wonderful climate and beaches and that of a native population living in poverty without shelter or food.  Often, children are not given the opportunity to attend school and learn how to read and write because their parents are illiterate and lacking in a formal education.  They are unable to afford to dress their children for school and to purchase school supplies.

We will help reduce this concern by volunteering at homeless shleter and running a reading program as well as day camp activities.  We will be able to offer reading aloud on a daily basis as well as land sports, arts and crafts and drama.
