Our summer leadership team is made up of unique individuals who place safety first and are skilled in creating a fun and inclusive environment that emphasizes respect and communication. Every staff member has succeeded in passing our rigorous screening and training programs. Take a moment to meet some of our outstanding leaders.

Leaders worth following!

Odette Pretty

Odette has been a key member of our team for 8 years. She has served as the Director of Education and Prevention for a community organization focused on HIV awareness and education. Odette completed an internship in West Africa where she counseled locals on HIV/AIDS and general health. As the Assistant Director of a Drop-In Center, Odette developed Peer Educator programs for high school students at risk. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Human Sciences with a Major in Human Relations. Odette has led all of our Adventure and many of our Community Service programs. She is the first person on the scene when it comes to scouting new programs and meeting with community leaders to collaborate on group service projects.

Odette serves as a facilitator and trainer during our Tour Director and Tour Leader seminars. She specializes in workshops on conflict resolution, debriefing, reflection and group dynamics. Her extroverted personality and understanding of human interaction makes Odette an excellent role model for our Tour Directors and Leaders. Odette has traveled and lived in Australia, Thailand, Africa and North America from East to West. She is fluent in French, English and can even speak some Ewe (West African dialect).

 

Dani Rotstein

Dani has been keeping our teens entertained for 6 years. He is a colorful character who leads tours for us in the summer and works as a Production Coordinator in the movie industry during the year. Dani has led our Adventure programs, Active Teen Tours and Spanish Immersion. He is also actively involved in teaching for the Kehillah Partnership which plans retreats for students in art-related programs such as dance, music, drama and fine arts.

He has filmed music videos for American Idol, Jordan Sparks, and pop star Avril Lavigne. Dani brings his creativity and endless energy and enthusiasm to each program he leads. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Film, of Vassar-Wesleyan-Colgate Spanish Immersion in Spain and of Hebrew University in Israel.

Dani has traveled extensively with Westcoast Connection/360° Student Travel as well as various film crews to the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Central America and South America.

Dani is fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew.

 

Cayleigh Warrack

Cayleigh has been playing an integral role in our Community Service and Adventure programs for 5 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Drama as well as Education. Cayleigh has spent much of her time as a volunteer teacher for “Schools Without Borders”. She has taught in Peru and Africa numerous times as well as having managed an International Exchange program for EAC in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Cayleigh is also a volunteer at “Almost Home”, which serves as a temporary accommodation for families who have a sick child being hospitalized and treated in a city different from that where they live.

Cayleigh believes that everyone has the right to an education and that education can improve the lives of children in developing countries. She is an excellent mentor to our staff and tour members and her compassion is apparent in everything that she undertakes.

Cayleigh is fluent in Spanish and recently led our Costa Rica Community Service program.

 

Dave Hugill

Dave has been broadening the horizons of our tour members and staff for 5 years as part of our Westcoast/360° Family. Dave loves to travel and learn and has a gift for sharing his knowledge of the places he has been with his tour members in an interesting yet factual way. He has lived abroad for almost a decade and has studied at Unversidad de la Habana in Cuba and Univerzita Karlov in Czech Republic. He has a B.A. with Honors in Contemporary Studies and Spanish and is presently completing his M.A. in Indigenous Studies after which he plans to complete his Ph.D. Dave’s work has varied from being an Intern in the Canadian Parliament to being the National News Editor for the Arthur Newspaper in Prague and a contributing writer to George Magazine as well as writing scripts for various radio stations.

Dave speaks a number of languages including French, English, Spanish, German and Czech.

He has led our Spanish Language program and many of our Active Teen Tours.

 

Rich SwamiNathan

Rich is truly compassionate and community minded. He has supervised our Community Service programs, helping with daily logistics and especially with group dynamics. Rich is a busy yet selfless individual who plays many roles and is an accomplished mentor. He is a soccer coach for the Special Olympics, and has also coordinated, planned, and implemented international community service travel programs for University students. Rich has built homes in New Orleans, cared for orphans in Africa, and led programs to Dominican Republic, London, Louisiana, Slidell, Monte Cristi, Mexico…the list goes on. Rich has managed several University Residence Halls. He has a B.A. in Applied Sciences focusing on Child, Family, and Social Relations and is presently completing his M.A. in Experiential Education.
