“The summer was indescribable. From service projects like running a summer camp for local kids to the protection of the turtle eggs, every thing we did was rewarding and meaningful. The lasting friendships made with the kids on the tour, as well as the people I met in Belize are irreplaceable. The amount I learned about the country and various cultures here, as well as myself as a person, was boundless. This was a summer to remember and an amazing experience overall. Not only did I feel accomplished about all the work I completed on the Community Service Belize Program, but it opened me up to different living conditions and pushed me physically and mentally. It was definitely an amazing experience I will never forget.”

“My favorite Community Service project was building the playground because we actually got to see how it affected the children in a positive way. This trip has changed me by making me realize that all I need to do is put in a little time and effort and I can change someone’s life forever. The lasting impressions I made with new friendships, experiences and service have changed my life. I never imagined that I could cross such cultural barriers and still feel comfortable with my surroundings.”

“Alaska has been so rewarding in many different ways. The people I met were all so interesting and compassionate. The counselors were so caring and thoughtful and I felt that the balance of this trip was perfect. I didn’t feel over worked or like we were playing too much. I feel like this has been the most fulfilling use of my summer. The experience has changed me in so many ways. The community service was so eye opening and rewarding and I feel so satisfied with how much I have helped the people of Alaska. I’ve learned so much more about myself, life and people. I’ve had an opportunity to see much more of the world. I have come away from this summer knowing so much more about the world around me.

Minna C.

“Stephanie had a terrific time and has excellent memories of a summer where she grew by helping others less fortunate, while also taking time to enjoy a beautiful part of our country. We liked the personal care and attention given both to the tour members and the parents, especially the kick off introductions at the airport. It showed you took the extra effort to get the summer program started on the right footing.”

“The program was amazing. I’ve grown so much since the beginning of the summer. It felt so good to be a part of such a dedicated program and group of people. I learned that the smallest gesture can mean the world to so many people.”

“I spent my summer doing things and accomplishing things I never thought I could possibly do. I gained a new way of thinking about life. This was a summer that created many memories and friendships that will never be forgotten. I came out a stronger person mentally than I ever was before.”

Lindsay S.

“I really liked building the palm front roof in San Miguel because we found all the materials ourselves, and did everything from scratch and then got to see our work pay off when it rained and our structure kept us dry. I know that when I get home I will no longer take any small pleasures for granted because of this Community Service Program. Without a doubt, the service and adventure I participated in made a positive impact on the lives of the local cultures and left me with a summer filled with memories I will never forget. My favorite part of the program was when we completed the playground. After it was done we saw all the kids playing on it, and I felt as though my work had made the community better. I was very impressed with the group of teens that participated in this summer’s trip. They were highly motivated.”

Emily P
Belle Mead, New Jersey

“My trip to Alaska was amazing in every respect. We participated in such rewarding service projects, and also got to see so many new and interesting things, unlike what we are used to at home. The counselors were incredible and, made us feel comfortable and sure that we enjoyed our trip. I got much more out of my trip than expected. I participated in amazing service projects, and made incredible friends and unforgettable memories. Working at Beans Café was the best because I was able to watch the effect of my service on different people’s days. Working one to one was an experience unlike any other, and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I have seen how many different aspects of society require volunteerism and how significant every tiny contribution really is. The balance of community service, adventure, work, and fun was perfect because there was never too much of one thing. A few days of service was always followed by just as much fun and sight seeing. The trip was incredible in all regards and I could not have asked for more. The counselors were able to connect with every kid on a professional and personal level. I will never forget the things I did, the people I met, and the places I went on my trip. ”
